The Warriors Innovate Challenge is an annual competition hosted by Winona State University. The competition offers students opportunity to win large cash prizes for developing the most innovation entrepreneur project. This year the Warriors Innovate Challenge wanted to introduce a full print advertising campaign to generate excitement throughout the student body. The challenge for this project was creating a brand identity that speaks to students from multiple disciplines. Our group won the campaign and our designs were dispersed across campus. The solution we took to this challenge was incorporate influential individuals that made an impact in their time such as, Oprah, David Bowie, Steve Jobs, Marie Curie, Frederick Douglass, and Elon Musk. Posters of these innovators went up around campus in different buildings according to the disciplines that have classes there. We also had a promotional day a week before the first event to get students excited about the challenge. Promo day lasted three hours at the most central part of campus. We had music, an MC, free coffee, fidget spinners, and handouts with information about the Warriors Innovate Challenge. We were able to get over 500 students to visit our promo day booth and over 200 students signed up and interested in attending the first event for the challenge.
